2024 ‘Let’s Get Tropical’ Maize Festival Main Events
Please keep in mind event registration closing dates when applying. We would love to see everyone partake and would hate for you to miss out.
Street Parade – 31st August 2024
Main Street Atherton – Including Tug-o-war and presentation of competition winners
Traditional Main Street parade with themed floats in line at marshalling area by 6pm and parade starting at 6.30pm.
Shop Window Display Competition
Queen and Charity Queen Competition
The program is intended to grow confidence and potential in young rural women.

Maize Festival Princess Program!
Maize Festival High Tea – 4th August 2024
Catered by our wonderful volunteers lots of yummy treats, we also cater for dietary requirements. Tea and coffee are served in vintage tea cups.
Raffles and prizes on site. The Best Tea Cup prize will be chosen on the day. (Don’t forget to bring your BEST CUP!)

Gala Ball – 17th August 2024
Back with a BANG!
2024 Maize Ball is our major fundraiser for the year. To help us have our annual Street Parade and support our Maize Queens and Princesses! Starting the night with a cocktail hour with charcuterie and finger food on arrival. Dinner served by Khans Curry Catering and dessert by our volunteers. Auction on the night to raise funds for our group.
Careless is coming along to help us party into the night.
Shuttle bus available from various locations.

The Atherton Maize Festival reserves the right to remove participants from the competition at any time. The number of competition teams will
be limited. Please ensure your nominations are registered early.

16 – 25-year-old Women (we are willing to cater to all and change the program if others are interested)

Mazie Festival Charity Queen – Most funds raised
Encouragement award – Will be given by the judges for the most improved/showing growth throughout the program.
