2025 Maize Festival Main Street Parade – Float marshalling and procession information

INFORMATION FOR FLOAT ENTRY FOR 2025 MAIZE FESTIVAL STREET PARADE SATURDAY 30TH AUGUST.

For float marshalling, please access the Atherton Silo Shopping Centre (Atherton IGA) car park (far end, uncovered parking area) on Saturday afternoon. Float vehicles can be parked from 2 PM.

All float entries must be in line by 6 PM ready for the parade to start at 6:30 PM.

Please work with float marshals, traffic control and SES to ensure everyone’s safety to enjoy a smooth rollout of the parade.

Float numbers to be displayed on vehicles will be made available on Saturday afternoon from 5 PM.

There will be 2 laps of the Main Street and parade vehicles will return to the Atherton Silo Shopping Centre car park.

Walking floats, please assemble outside The Carrington Hotel on the footpath.

Parade flow:

PROCESSION WILL DO 2 LAPS OF MAIN STREET PROCEEDING:

• UP VERNON TURNING LEFT ONTO MAIN STREET
• ALONG THE BOTTOM SIDE OF MAIN STREET
• DO U-TURN AT ATHERTON AUTOMOTIVE/BUNNINGS
• ALONG TOP SIDE OF MAIN STREET
• DO U-TURN AT POLICE STATION
• REPEAT MAIN STREET LAP
• AFTER 2ND U-TURN AT POLICE STATION, TURN LEFT DOWN VERNON STREET AND PARK/EXIT INTO IGA CARPARK.

In case of EMERGENCY, please follow instructions given by members in high vis and emergency services. The Emergency Evacuation Assembly Area is in the intersection of Main and Vernon Streets (Carrington, ANZ, Grand Hotel, Tobacconist)

Road closure maps of Main Street will be posted on the Atherton Maize Festival Facebook page by Monday, 25th August 2025.
